Been using these for several years. Previous Canon printer from 2015 was fine. But then Canon stopped making updates to the computer software interface forcing it into retirement even though printer still functioned. [ NOTE: Canon company ethics are like street drug dealers.. get ya hooked, get ya money, then disappear]. So bought a newer Canon and it was able to feed this Avery 8870 OK for about one year, but now the little black grab rollers aren't grabbing anymore. The printer makes god-awful noise like its going to explode as it's attempting to pull paper thru. Oh, but wait this is a REVIEW about Avery.. so Avery should specifically list on its website what printers this product will work with - otherwise you'll losing sales.Makes first class business cards, price was phenomenal.Works well for printing our membership cardsThis produces an excellent smooth edged business card. The issues i had were with printer compatibility. My printer at home was unable to grab the paper out of the paper tray. I took it to work and noticed the same issue. I ended up having to use the bypass tray on my printer just so that the paper would feed correctly. i ruined a couple sheets because the paper would grab it weird and misalign the print. All that being said, I don't fault the product because it seems like an issue with the texture of all "business card" paper.I ended up buying an even larger package after i went though the initial stock - if that says anything. The main reason I design and print my own business cards is because I can change the design any time I get another idea or I'm just tired of the old design. I'm not locked into buying hundreds of cards at a time. You are only limited by your imagination.Avery advertises, "TRUE+PRINTtm, Improves Alignment of Text and Images for Great Results."Yet I find it necessary to adjust all my different edge-to-edge business cards' text and images by fractions of an inch every time I start a new pack of this business card stock. The lower unit cost of the 8870 stock is not the only reason I order/reorder it. The other reason is to minimize the number of new packs I must open and therefore the number of times I must make such adjustments. My ability simply to "eyeball" the adjustments necessary is inadequate. I have finally resorted to the purchase and use of a digital micrometer to aid me in reducing the number of wasted sheets of stock until I once again have everything within registration.I use this with my HP Photo quality ink jet printer. No smudges even when printing both sides. I do wait a short while before printing the second side just to ensure the ink is dry, but I haven't had problems. For the style of card I use, I like these better than sending out to a print shop. Follow the directions - print the second side first and that you snap these apart in the direction indicated. I don't always send the paper through in the direction of the arrows, and I have not yet had any problem with the alignment, but it is best to follow even that instruction as to paper feed direction. This paper can be fed from the normal paper feed tray - it will curve around the rollers without problems. Once I did have trouble with the printer grabbing one and then a second one almost immediately so I recommend if that becomes a problem that you put them in the tray one at a time (but you can stack them in the tray on top of each other but loading them individually helps make sure they aren't going to stick together).Nothing is as good as the Clean Edge cards. I have bought at around 10 packs of the 1000 cards now and they are great. I haven't been able to to find any other product that is as easy to split up into cards as these and with as high quality of paper. The old micro-perforated cards are completely useless compared to these. We use them to create beta tests of our educational games and without these cards we would be forced to spend a lot more money for beta test runs. Our beta testers all think that our cards are the final printed version. THANK YOU SO MUCH AVERY I LOVE YOUR PRODUCT! I have uploaded some pictures to show you how the cards are after splitting (which is effortless) and how well they print.I tried the laser version, they were rubbish, wouldn’t line up to print or separate properly, these are so much better.
